In the first reported case of selective prosecution against persons of Arab descent since 9/11, Mr. Randolph represented a senior Saudi official’s son who was prosecuted for allegedly cheating on an English exam in order to gain admission to a university. While the district court judge agreed the action was discriminatory, he ruled that it was acceptable in the aftermath of 9/11. Mr. Randolph argued this case in the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia in June 2004.
